Hahaha, yeah i know, you'll never get a defender fully waterproof, but i'm trying aleast to stay dry inside the car :p

I've changed the door seals and seals between the two doorhalves. Most of the old leaks are gone but now ones came back :D

The one between the doorhalves helps, but is still leaking. Guess the doors aren't that flush anymore. Nothing a little sikaflex221 can't fix, but i still have two problems. 1 is starts to leak from behind the windowlockknob.

Any ideas about this one?

Also, the new doorrubbers are good and seal alot better, but i still get water inside the door. Was thinking of putting a rubberseal on the door itself too. Any thoughts on that?

What type of seals did you get for between the door halfs? Mine still leak, especially from around the area you mentioned. I just live with it but I will be getting better quality seals at some point, all the ones I've found though tend to look cheap and crap

Just having a look and the seal, part number RRC7575 looks to be a much better quality part. They have OEM ones listed on lrseries.com for 3.89 exc vat

The ones I've got in are totally flat but for a lip on the outside. The original military seal I had had a lip on top to fit into the upper door half. When I checked our system that's the part number that comes up for our seals, RRC7575. I'm gonna order some as they can't be any worse than the cheap crap I've got on from paddocks

Shouldn't be any water getting in there though, its just a hollow space isn't it? Mine does the same but only a small amount

not on military door tops... there are drain holes in the window channel that allow the water to drain out the runner into that section and then out through the cut out in the centre on the outside of the door... loads of water goes straight in

cheers steve

Lemme know how you like them. Might do the same.

About the window knob, yeah i'll take it apart and check it. The other one is fine.

Steve any tips on stopping those stupid bolts attaching the door top from rusting? I think the new ones I've got are zinc plated but they still end up soaked. Can't imagine my **** seal helps but they still have water running down the damn things
