My newly acquired LSE currently resembles a swimming pool at the front.
Having sat out over the last couple of nights in the rain the front footwells are sodden and I have a drip from the centre of the roof which conveniently falls directly off the rear view mirror on to the radio.

So where to start? I'll strip out all the front carpets and rather wet sound deadening at the weekend and dry it all out. It looks as though the water is coming from the bulkhead rather than from the roof but I could be wrong. Problem is there is so much "stuff" under there - mats, carpet, trim, sponge sound insulating it is hard to see.

It hasn't been like it for long as there are no residual tide marks under there so hopefully it can be stopped asap.

Any thoughts anyone?

ok, well they do have two weak spots, one being the bulkhead, and they rot on eitherside behind where the decker panel meets the front wings. i had this with 2 softdash models.
bonnet off then the deck panel to get to thiese areas is the only way, shine a torch in there first and have a good look

Certainly there is some corrosion in that top corner passenger side, I don't recall it on the drivers. I'll have a good look on Sunday.

I think there may be more than one!
Sunroof drains are certainly going to get some attention - where do they exit?

I think its inside the STEEL! A posts, genius design!

I am sure Si will correct me if I am wrong lol

I gave up on my sunroof, sealed it up permanently and fitted a non sunroof headliner which I got cheap. It only leaked in a storm but I could not sort it and was fed up with the cabin getting wet out of the blue!

Had to replace the bottom of my A post because it rotted out too!

I really hope I don't need to go that far as I really like a sunroof and use it far more than AC. I'll have a good look and see what I find.

So I've had a good look at the sunroof as it seems that a problem may lie here.

If I put a tube down each side and blow water down it then it appears at the corner of the bonnet/bulkhead/inner wing and runs along the top of the wing and falls in front of the front wheel. On both sides there appears to be a small amount that finds its way to the ground behind the front wheel. I'm assuming this probably shouldn't be the case.

The tubes certainly aren't blocked and I don't think I have unblocked anything in my investigations. Getting the front carpet and sound proofing out looks a bit involved - are there any tricks to doing this or is it just a case of keep undoing trim until it comes out?

Need to get this front end a bit more watertight!!

Any info gratefully received
