Leaking VE Injector pump

Hi guys,

Have traced a diesel leak on my VE pump to that large 26mm triangular distributor head bolt.

Can I just simply remove this bolt and replace the O ring without the pump losing tension on any of the working parts and causing them to fall out ? I know for the pump to head seal the assembly needs to be under tension other wise bits fall out. I just have enough room to sneak the 26mm socket and 1/2 drive bar on it with pump in situ and injector lines on. Photo is for reference to bolt only by the way.

Iv still got the scrap pump some where I used to practise on before resealing mine , il go look see but prob won't have an answer until sunday

Just about to pull this apart and have a look see for you

Scrap pump I have is totally seized solid. You can hammer on a 1 inch socket over the funny sided security nut and see if you can shift it. You should only need to let it back out a small amount to get to the seal I imagine.
Need an exploded view of this pump to see exactly what's behind it.

129 is the seal I think you have leaking, looks like your good togo removing it for reseal.

Cheers mate. Looks like it is more or less to seal the inspection hole for the dial gauge I'm guessing.

Yep I think it is, should be good to replace
