all input appreciated!

Simple way to check, clean the engine (steam cleaning is pretty quick) then run it up to temp for a bit, then it'll be clear where the oil comes from. :)

yeah ok scotsman, just as much help as your mate!!

olmasters..thanks alot, appreciate the help :)when you know nothing about cars and trying to to learn its people like yourself that make that help people out!

Hello,

Have a problem with slight oil leaking from underneath the car,
all input appreciated!
...except the facetious, sarcastic, or general banter type input it seems??? Please note - it is the pearls of wisdom in amongst the banter that make this site what it is :D
You say the leak is slight - most landies have slight oil leaks - it goes with the brand - hence marking its territory. Since you give no indication as to the age, condition or even type of engine, then you will only get general replies.
As Mudhunter indicated, the "leak" will probably be further forward than the apparent area of oil coverage - many people forget that oil etc get blown backwards while the vehicle is travelling - something to do with only looking underneath when stationary!! - see other thread about oil covering the back door!!
Chill...read...search...and enjoy the site for what it is! :D

i accept all input and appreciate the banter, its just slightly annoying when i know nothing about engines etc and trying to find out info on whats causing it,i accept all input, just tend to appreciate the ones that help me more than the ones that are having a laugh!!!!!
