Leak rear of engine on my 2009 discovery 4

Good evening all this morning I was traveling home and noticed smoke coming from under the bonnet, I pulled over and open the bottom, the smoke seemed to be coming from the back of the engine, I drove it to my friends garage and we put it on the Ramps to have a look at it, it seems to have a diesel leak spraying out from the back of engine drivers side, we could not see the exact location it was coming from, does anyone know what this problem could be and could it be fixed without taking the body off, as I don’t have the sort of cash to do this we the current way things are at present and the vehicle is my only means of transport, many help would be most appreciated

You are going to have to work out the source of the leak, leak off pipe failure is not unknown, has it had any recent work done?

We are going to have another look tomorrow the back of the engine seems to be soaked with diesel on the right side, and its had to get to view the back of engine as there covers blocking our view that we can not get access to

No recent work has been carried out on it

Welcome to the forum

Use a mirror or camera to see round the back of the engine. You may get a betterer view from looking though the holes in the wheel arch or from underneath.

Thanks mate we going to try and get a better look at it today and will post what we can see
