Had a search and could not find anything on this.

I've noticed a kind of sticky fluid on my foot foot mat at left foot the last few weeks Thought it was something I dragged in but it seems to be coming from the bottom of the dash housing.

Cannot (and hope) say it is oily but it has a thick and greasy consistency, it's on carpet trim and finishing up on mat.

What is under the dash that could be leaking? Anyone any ideas?

Hi there no expert but it may be the o rings on the heater pipe connection . Are you having to top up the cooling system - not sure about the sticky bit though - I had a similar situation and it was the o rings hope this helps

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Assume I need to get onto the dash to get to the O'rings ?

I have topped up cooler but nothing excessive.

Thanks
D

Its not the best job - eightinavee on here helped me its a really not nice job - rings cost £3 dealer wants 8-10 hrs labour with help and advice on here i managed it in 2and a half hours its lower trim out and side cheek
Good luck try searching on heater o rings

Thanks again, I'll take a look and see what I can find out.

I'm worried about consistency now if it's oily coming from the water heater.

Just took another look on my lunch break there and it does seem to be more watery than I first thought..

Think it's just picking up crap and making it look dirty by the time it gets to the floor.

So I'll order the O rings and see how it goes.

Assume I don't need to drain the water system do I?

Cheers

I had similar & it was the air con drainage pipes were blocked causing the water to back up & cause water to gather in the foot well

Cleared em with a a bit of bamboo cane

problem sorted - took five mins

yes you will need to drain the system as you will need to disconnect the pipes to fit new o rings
this job is a doddle with a little bodgery take of your centre console side trim and drill a hole in the trim behind the trim you just taken off, u might need to drill afew times to get hole in right place then with a long magnetic screwdriver you can get on to the retaining screw

landy charge 8 hours becuause they have to do the job properly, so they say :p

Do you have instructions on how to do this? think it's worth a try before anything else.

Thanks everyone for their help and advice. It's only a fairly small leak so hopefully the above will work, if not..........

Certainly,

if you search this forum for " footwell " theres one called Puddle in foot well - all the instructions are on there (kindly provided by another member)

Ive tried to cut n past it & it should be as below.

"it could be from yer A/C if the drains are blocked. if so you'll have to locate them from underneath the vehicle (usually clear tubes, one either side) and push a piece of wire up them to clear the blockage. "
((my tubes were Black & not easy to spot))))

"Hi - Further info on drains for the air con.
from under the vehicle looking up at the floor pan where it goes over the gear box above the Bell housing -
(the bit of the gearbox where it joins the engine and is shaped a bit like a bell laying on its side) "
"- The drain will look like a round bung about 20 p sized with a star shape of cuts in it. poke about with a short blunt phillips screwdriver to release the water there is one each side but it is usually the passenger side that blocks and I now know why"
^^^ thats the instructions i followed & im no mechanic but it all worked

Make sure you do it when the engine is cold or u might get hot exhaust burn - also a pair of goggles or glasses are good because your bound to dislodge some loose crap.

Good luck - Pockers
