Hello there!
Has anyone experience of fitting the Pug engine to series 3 diesel?
i have found one.
Is it worth while?
what do you need to fit one?

Not very worth while - Only advantage really is that there is a Vacuum pump on them so your brakes will be better... However parts are ALOT more expensive! I don't think they are much quicker than a standard 2.25 Derv engine to be honest...

Hi , thank you for finding that, i know about Steve Parker but had not found that article. big question ... is it worth while???? i would love to fit a ford V6 but fuel costs........
thanks again

did it a few years back, waste of time,no more poke than 2.5, been better off
with a trany, alittle bit more to do but goes like **** off a stick,me mate had one
its the depth of the engine you need to know about, so as to be able to close the lid,
someone on here will know or "search".

very few things could be as slow as my diesel...............

some times i just wonder why they brought out that engine?
i used to work with a chap (1982) who was a clever bloke working for landrover, apparently they had farmers turning up at land rover works and abandoning their landies demanding their money back.
a diesel which had less torque than the petrol equivalent. now i know.................

I've got a tranny engine in mine. There's a bit of info on what I had to do to make it fit here:

Land Rovers

It doesn't feel very quick to me, but when I go greenlaning people with Tdis are very surprised at how well it goes. It will manage just under 80mph with standard gearing and 7.50 R16 tyres
