There I was taking the last bolt out to get the head of the right bank and it started to pee with rain so that stopped that still always tomorrow evening lets hope it stays dry my tarp that I used for the engine rebuild shredded in the wind so exposed to the elements. Hopefully this is the last time I have the heads off ;);)

Know the feeling. Did mine in December - wet and windy too but needed the car for a big trip. I have a garage but its full of junk so having a big clean out. Getting too old for outdoor rebuilds.
If you have the heads off I rcommend you check the camshaft.

I rebuilt the engine in December new liner the lot but like a tw@t didn't replace the rad and after 500 miles it gave out and hg gone and its the right bank with all the LPG etc getting 160 160 160 155 On the left bank so unsure if I want to take it off the right is giving 100 50 50 100.
And all this done on the drive and as you say getting too old for it

You should use a gazebo to do work outside. I assembled it with 3 sides in place and just drove in. Make sure you get a biggun and one that can be ground anchored. Last thing you want is for your gazebo to blow away.

The one I have will cover to the rear door hinge with plenty of space all round the engine bay. Had been looking at the jobbies designed for vehicles that are massively long, but they are way more expensive than buying two normal gazebos and spanking them together.

I had a tarp over a pergola which was high enough for bonnet upright and big enough for rangie and work space all round used it whilst doing rebuild in nov and dec but she who must be obeyed says no as it is in front drive. Only took an hour or so toget it to last bolt so couple of hours tonight should see it done

Pleas let us know how it goes?

Having a gazebo is a good idea, problem I have is the end of the car is nearly on the pavement and we live 400ft up looking directly out to sea so the winds can get over 60 to 80 and sometimes more!. We have 60+ at the moment. The ground around the car is concrete so tie down difficult. White horses at sea magnificent!
