There are some stunning lanes over the long mynd / stipperstones area, nothing too dificult / scratchy, but well off the beaten track and gobsmacking scenery.

I'm still up for a joining a convoy around the Midlands somewhere, work permitting.

In order to get this organised we need lane info!! I have a few and im sure you all do too. Has anyone got memory map?? and can share some route overlays?

We cant go lanning without lanes!

Wish i could, on a plane to Hungary, will get down there soon, want to try out all the kit i have bolted on for my little overland trip coming up.
Make sure nothing falls off :)

Went and explored a little last night. Specifically fords. Found lots of what can only be described as puddles in the road lol. Then we went and found Packington as advised by HuN73R. WOW!! It was dark by then and I didnt really have a clue where the road went or how deep it was. So I bottled it and went home for a couple of beers. Would like to go there again but in daylight hours  , even better when I can watch someone else go through first :D

Packington can be a bit daunting... I bottled it first time around...

Here's the rules... walk over to the second bridge

  • If there is a gentle flow... the water may just breatch your bonnet line at this point ;)
  • If there is a fast flow... dont go there without a snorkel.:)
  • If there are turnips being washed down by a torrential current... dont do it without a snorkel and scuba gear:D
  • If there is water flowing under the first bridge - forget it..!

I did walk along the path to the side over the bridges and the water sounded like it was flowing quite quickly but could not really see as it was very dark. I would like to get out with a few of you and do some soft roading but am thinking of selling my Disco to get something a bit older that I would not be so worried about scratching etc
