I have this thing for unique vehicles and I hate belly button cars. A couple of years ago, I saw the Defender style Land Rover, and had to have one. Better yet, I stumbled upon an 88" Series 3 diesel. Perfect... or is it? The heater doesn't work too well, driving on it loosens my fillings and there are no longer mosquitos within a 10 mile radius. As an added bonus to driving it, I no longer have to lift weights, BTW, did they come with brakes? Typical Landy, I know, and all was expected. 
So I have a little project truck to keep me busy. I've had a Jeep CJ and a Chevy Blazer that I built from the frame up. I miss working on a 4X4.
Has anyone ever looked into fabbing Rack and Pinion steering on a Series 3? From what I have read, the easiest way to upgrade the Landy is with parabolics and Discovery axles... yes?
