Hi All

My series III 88" landy bleeding to death :(

I know its a longshot but hoping someone has an idea what's going on.
Perkins Prima engine (sourced from a montego I think) oil is pooring from the oil filter when the engine is running... Have drained the oil, changed filters;

gave it a good clean up, re-tightened the threaded mount (hollow tube thing that the filter screws into), checked and greased the seal on the top of the filter... fitted hand tight at first, then tightened a bit more with a tool after first run.

refilled oil, engine running still massive leak, fills the filter then must be blowing past the seal or something ??? No leaks when engine is switched off.

Any clues to what could be causing this ?

Cheers

Cheers Andy... checked that... clean as a whistle.

Bit the bullet and striped bits off the engine around the oil pump... turned out to be the turbo feed union just above the oil filter.. Well hidden. I think I unseated it a little when fitting a new alternator belt;

Stripped it all and cleaned it, put it all back together... NO LEAKS :D

Panic over...
