landrovercity.com anyone used them?

If they're THAT good a legal team, I may be interesting in recruiting them to go with the other 20 litigation specialists that work for me :D

Well then, young man, you're going to damn well need all twenty if you're going to go around complimenting companies on their business models all willy-nilly like that!

As i'm a lover of keeping the peace I have removed a little of the information from the informatory post. As far as i'm aware there is nothing there that shouldn't be but, just playing it safe.
Personally I don't understand the issue, everything was looking positive for a while...

Fair one. I checked again today on companies house (believe it or not they close their website in the evenings and at weekends so you have to rely on data aggregators out of office hours )and everything matched the original post - dates, addresses, names, net worth, the lot. I'm genuinely baffled by their response

I remember an epic hole digging thread concerning a certain rust proofing guy many years ago.
He caused so much damage to his reputation it was unreal.
Can't remember what forum it was on though but wasn't LRO I'm sure.

Just wondering if they are any good for recon VCU, just making sure it's not the infamous 'Dan Ball' in disguise etc.

The link above shows what I'm looking at, recon VCU, I just phoned (on a saturday) and the lady was really nice to me, informed me of exact procedure and to get a recon VCU would take around a week and price, with new centre bearings, on my doorstep ready to fit and old one picked up and taken back to them is looking around £255, that's including the vodka and couriers.

So yeah, anyone used them before? Anyone had experience of them good/bad?
Since writing the post below I have had a text from someone (I'm guessing it's Land Rover City). They say they are nothing to do with the eBay supplier (SELLTOT) yet they also trade out of Unit 23 Telford Road which is NCA Motors address and who are also Land Rover City. It's very confusing.
They have now threatened police and legal action although they deny any knowledge of my purchase and also claim no relationship whatsoever to the eBay seller SELLTOT yet they are highly informed about every aspect of my purchase. Strange that. They must've had a word with SELLTOT who is nothing to do with them yet works out of the same industrial unit as them. Anyway, to set the record straight: according to Land Rover City I did not buy a recon VCU with OEM bearings, I bought one with cheap aftermarket bearing which they do not do anymore. I've been asked to remove the content below so I will and I'll re-write this ever more complicated story when I've got a minute. As a point of information. Whilst this has been going on, SELLTOT has since removed the Unit 12 Teford Road address from the ebay page and now has no address whatsoever visible to buyers. Funny that.
DON'T WHATEVER YOU DO USE THESE PEOPLE. THEY SELL RECONDITIONED VCUs ON EBAY http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Freelander-1-Reconditioned-VCU-Viscous-Coupling-Unit-OEM-Bearings-/252280916856?fits=Model:Freelander&hash=item3abd1d4b78:g:hfAAAOSwl8NVYtcR. I BOUGHT A RECON UNIT AND TOOK DELIVERY OF IT BACK IN DECEMBER 2014. BY DECEMBER 2015 THE BEARINGS WERE TOTALLY SHOT. THE PROBLEM WAS THAT MY MISSUS WAS DRIVING IT AND THOUGHT THE WHINING WAS AS ISSUE WITH THE TURBO. IT WENT FOR SERVICE IN THE JANUARY AND WE WERE TOLD THE BEARINGS WERE USELESS. THEY GO BY THE NAME OF SELLTOT ON EBAY AND WILL NOT ENTERTAIN ME IN ANY WAY AS THEY SAY THE UNIT WAS OUT OF ITS 12 MONTH WARRANTY WHEN I CALLED. THE ISSUE I HAVE IS THAT THE BEARINGS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE "OEM". I THINK WE ALL KNOW WHAT KIND OF LONGEVITY WE CAN REASONABLY EXPECT FROM OEM BEARINGS AND IT'S CERTAINLY NOT 12 MONTHS OR A FEW THOUSAND MILES. STAY WELL AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE.

Have just banged a very unfavourable rating on their Google places page. They trade under NCA Motors Ltd in Clacton
See: https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=nca+motors

Nice to see Landy owners sticking together :)
Britpart/Allmakes bearings, from bitter experience, tend to last almost exactly one year. After that they start to rumble and, if ignored, will break up. It sounds like you are another victim of this.

EDIT: If they are Britpart bearings they will have a 24-month warranty, I think.

Yes, we all rallied round NoDosh when he was threatened with unspecified litigation for his undefined misdemeanour. I found him shaking in a corner having peed his pants... :p

Michael James, in Post 54 you spoke His name. Now, crawl to your miserable hovel and await His wrath!

Jeepers somehow I managed to miss the beginning of this thread and just caught the last few posts. I've follow a million threads about fecking German diesel engines that are coughing and spluttering when all the time this fella was providing great entertainment.

I wonder who reconditions these VCUs, LandRoverCity, NCA Motors or Selltot (they are the same outfit with the same phone number) are parts shifters - not engineers.

All sounds a bit dodgy to me - but at least my pants are dry!
