Well hi all, haven't been on here for ages! Busy with work/kids/holidays etc. You know how it is. Anyway, for those of you who may remember, I was building an electric buggy for my daughter and haven't touched it for over 2 years! She's now just turned 5 and my son is coming up to 3; so what with this lockdown I have been cracking on with it again! Hopefully I will get it finished while at least one of them can still drive it!

I had miscalculated the cabin area and had a bit of of a nightmare with legroom and the only way i could think of easily improving space was to drop the floor. I say 'easily', this was a complete ball-ache!!! It consisted of cutting out the lower curved side rails and making new ones. Anyway, job done.
Also made a forward and reverse gear lever and dash/steering cowl. I've uploaded some pics.

Brilliant! Great job! :)

Lovely build. I don't know if you already have done so, but I would put a chain tensioner on the steering chain to ensure sufficient engagement and because it is on its side to prevent it jumping off the little sprocket when going over rough/bumpy ground.
Nothing worse for a 2/3 YO than losing the steering on rough terrain. Great build!

Thanks for the comments.

Kermitt_rr, hopefully I have built in some reliability!

DanClarke, yes I thought it might go slack so have made the steering pinion on a slider now so I can tension the chain.

Making and fitting the remainder of the body panels is next on the list will send some more updates soon.
