Hi everyone,
I have recently dragged out my landrover series 3 1981 petrol from the barn. It's been stood there for 9 years.
I have managed to get the engine working again by replaceing the ignition coil, spark plugs, a overall flush out and new oil.
Unfortunately I have been having problems with the clutch (it keeps stalling when I put it in gear). I have just changed the slave cylinder and replaced fluid with dot 4, also bled the slave cylinder to get all air out.

When I start the engine in 1st gear it just judders forward then cuts out. It also does the same in reverse. Does it need a full clutch replacement or is there any advice you can provide?

Thank you for reading any advice would be highly appreciated!
Thanks
Tedd

Welcome to Landyzone Tedd
The fun starts now, it might be the clutch has seized into flywheel , if you put the query on the Series Landrover Forum, someone will experience of that problem and come up with how to sort it
Cheers

Hi and welcome
That is exactly the same as my Cortina when the clutch plate sizes to the flywheel, pull the box back or out loosen of the cover and use a wallpaper scraper to slide between the plate and flywheel thats what i do.:)
