Newby so don't know if I've posted in right place but here goes..
I might be a bit thick but is there anywhere I can find step by step instructions for locating and removing/replacing thermostat on my Freelander V6. I've removed the top engine cover with built in filters and tried to follow top hose to stat but there seems to be so much stuff in the way. My V6 has a BAC LPG conversion if that helps?
I can't even see the stat housing, so what else do I have to remove to get to it.

Many thanks in advance Freelandermouse

i think on the v6 you have to remove quite a bit to get at it.

my mgzt with the same engine, you had to remove the intake manifold and it was a proper swine. Of course i am making the assumption that the engine is exactly the same on the freelander as on the mg.

someone who knows this stuff will be along i am sure.

its be nice to newbs day btw :)

you win the medal for oldest thread revival :welcome:

Hi

A good start is to download Rave and get a Haynes manual. Very good resources. Rave especially.

I bet there is one thing you did not do ,that is to take the small pipe off on the header tank and while the engine is running and hot is to blow down it ,this releases the jiggle valve and allows water into the head ,without doing this you will just have problems bleeding the system, also you say you kept on loosing water does the header tank have any cracks around the top ,if so replace hope this helps
