Well shoot me down if its already been covered, BUT in my defence i have looked for it so if you want to shoot me down supply a link !!

Whats is the cheapest LR diagnostic software and obviously cables ?

I have OBD etc and the air suspension usual leads but i want to access modules like ABS and HeVAC and for this it would appear the market is slim and expensive

I just can't believe that this market has been untapped ? i have hand held devices for bmw VW ford etc that access all modules, real time data and not only codes displayed but a description and they cost very little around £40 they are updated too by the internet and are very accurate.

am i missing summit are these available? am i looking in the wrong places ?
 
Do a search for Hawkeye, below is a bit of the blurb from their website. Bit on the pricey side but (from what I've read here) they seem to be ok.

I'm not sure about the other Land Rovers, but I do know that the Disco 2 is not OBDII compliant, even though the diagnostics socket looks very similar.
Generally most members who do have a diagnostic capability use either the Hawkeye from Bearmach (about £300 new) or the Nanocom from Blackbox Solutions Ltd (about £400 new). There are some other devices too, I'm sure.
You might be able to find a second hand unit on that (in)famous auction website.
 
my obd2 gear works fine i currently have a fault code of P0340 cam shaft position sensor bank 1, its the other stuff like he vac etc i can't access with my current gear.

Yes, but that'll be the one that's unlocked for all models. If you get the version that's just unlocked for yours it'll be nearer the £300 mark. As indeed are the Hawkeye and Nanocom for one model. I've got the Nanocom and you can do quite a lot with it.
 
oh yeah i know that robbing gets thats my point i have a lot of other makes and that software does every car made by the manufacture its not restricted to a model so for the equipment i would need to work on Landrovers as a whole it is that price its pointless buying say defender only i work on lots of land rovers, i have OBD kit that works on them but i find more and more that i need to access other modules hence the need for a proper kit that should realistically be £50, :whoosh:
 
Well, everything seems to be in the region of £1000 if you want the fully unlocked version for multiple models. Dunno if there's an easy way round that.
 
does look like there is, i don't see why its soo expensive apart from the fact they call it rigging the market.:rolleyes:
