Hi guys. I have a landrover defender I recently purchased from a farm. It's a 200tdi ex military in need of cosmetic work such as a paint job. The car runs and drives brilliant. Have we any idea how much it's worth? Currently not MOT'd. Chassis are solid just surface rust. Thanks in advance kyle

I will give you 500 quid. Make it 750 when you have posted in Introduce Yourself.

I'll take the doors off your hands. Couple of quid?

The army didn’t have 200tdi defenders, so it’s either a non-turbo diesel, or it’s had an engine swap or it’s one of the recent WOLF ones with a 300tdi and worth heavy cash.

Weirdly just talking to a bloke with a 200 110, which he thinks is ex military as it has a warrant plate riveted on the inside of the cab?

Engine swap?
Mine is ex-mil with a tdi - but I fitted that myself.

90/110/127/defender era they used v8, 2.5na and the 300tdi (Wolf only)

No idea, seeing it next week so will look.
Its blue and even the inside of the seatboxes are painted blue.
Owner did not realise it was poss ex mil unitl he went to the land rover dealer for parts many moons ago, and the parts guy spotted the mil plate on the seat box.

@Kswift93 , as @flat said, MOD didn't use any 200tdi's so if MOD it's had an engine swap at some time. This is nothing to worry about, many have had Defender or Discovery 200tdi engines retro fitted; same as mine with Def200tdi.

Re' price, you need to post up some pics - realistically, if you're happy with the price you paid then, hey...don't be too concerned with its value...just enjoy the old girl.

Been to the car today, and it has a warrant plate on drivers side seat box and the military reg number written in black marker pen on the inner dash.
Will load pics shortly.
If you have any ideas/info, let me know and I wll pass it on to the owner, I have suggested he joins LZ so you might see/read his intro post before I do.

With that dash I suspect that’s white fleet vehicle - as in bog standard civi landrover but used by the military for non-military roles (raf or navy base transport, etc that sort of thing). Especially as it appears to have a ‘normal’ defender inner dash which the military ‘fighting vehicles’ spec don’t have.

I can ask about, you happy if I post those photos?

Yes no worries the owner wont have an issue with the pics being posted.
I did suggest to him maybe an officers car etc as pretty plain jane apart from huge roof rack.

It is on a 1993 L reg plate, forgot to get reg number, but can text him if it will help.

nah don’t worry,I am pretty certain. I have posted in a mil Land Rover group and will get back to you :)

One though - what colour is it? Is it dark blue? Is there any evidence of filled rivet holes in the roof or doors, and are the front wings looking like they have been repainted?
The Royal Navy used dark blue covey 110’s with a big roof rack as bomb disposal - they used the roof rack to carry a rib for offshore work

that or it was raf mountain rescue - they used ‘white fleet’ 110’s with huge roof racks to

Pretty standard land rover blue.

Same as this 90, the 110 spats are not colour coded though.
