Hi Guys

Trying to tidy up some paintwork on the back door on my 90 stationwagon, so went to roger youngs to find out cost and if they had any in stock. Gave the guy behind the counter my VIN number and he came back saying that on his computer records.its not coniston green but white. Well even a novice like me knows that its is coniston green and has always been.

The history of my fantastic 300tdi, is it started life in Sarajevo airport in early 1998. So was wondering if it went out in a batch of white LR's during/after the conflict. Went to halfords after this encounter with roger youngs and tried getting some made up, but it appears that there is 4 shades of coniston green (typical never heard of keeping it simply). The guy said i would have to provide him withthe VIN number, but this would be a mess of time as it would come up on his records as WHITE.

How could i find out about the correct match of coniston green????

Halfrauds have colour match charts with all the colours on them and holes in so you can see which one yours is. For some reason they don't like producing them and i found them to be quite unhelpful, but when i asked the guy for the charts he huffed and puffed a bit and let me borrow them, i took it outside and easily compared the exact shade of (blue in my case) to my landy.

Odenne, Cheers mate i will give that a go.:)

Check out their website and you'll see they promise the service - they will then make the paint up for you.

If all else fails (just noticed where you are!) Tamar 4x4 at St Ive have a send-a-part away service which they claim will get a perfect match, but it's a bit of a faff.
