Hi, sorry I am new on here so i apologise if this is in the wrong section.

My dad has a 2007 Landrover defender 110, i believe it is the ford tdi engine, He is currently on a camping trip to rendlesham in suffolk and is having some big problems, and really needs to get it to a good landrover dealer or a good landrover garage.

Problems started a few weeks ago with loss of power, when on idle sometimes it will just stall and when driving it was running fine (although low on power) with foot on the throttle and once removing his foot from the pedal the engine will stall.

He took it to a landrover garage near london where we live, they had to clean the fuel tank something to do with the swirl pipe being clogged up with aload of black carbon deposit sludge stuff. Once this was cleared out the landrover was running fine for about a week and then the same problem reoccured so i suggested changing the fuel filter which he did and that solved the problem again for about 2 or 3 days. So this indicated there was something up with the fuel system so he cleaned what pipes he could get to and checked the tank again for dirt after putting back together it was running fine. My parents went to suffolk this morning and started off fine but the problem got worse, the engine was running worse, with a sort of rattling sound and the same stalling when off the power, they managed to nurse it the rest of the way and now they are stressing as there pretty much stuck.

So please, we really need help, a solution or a good garage in the area of rendlesham who know what they are doing.

Thanks

(sorry for the bad spelling, bad punctuation etc, i dont have alot of time to write this)

Also i believe its the tdci puma lump he has

I live the other side of Suffolk near Bury St Edmunds, there is an independent Land Rover place called Mansfield 4x4 in Bury, they are helpful people, and may be able to help, but they are at a guess 50/60 miles away.

Mansfields are very good. I also highly recommend Excalibur 4x4 at crowfield. I use them a lot. Mark and Steve who run the place are very knowledgeable. 01449 797444

Crowfield is closer to rendlesham if that helps. Mark peacock is good from what I hear but never had any work done by him. I would avoid off road rovers at saxmundham.
