I have been looking around for a landy ambulance recently and found a place (im sure most of you will know it!) called Blanchards , Blanchards say they are in Shiptonthorpe...they are actually in Market weighton ...anyway I arranged to go have a look at one and they have 40-50ish ambulances in stock, I went this morning having no sleep thinking about it and was SORELY DISSAPOINTED:(, Half of them are left hookers:confused:, but all of them have been standing there for at least 20 years in my opinion, happily rotting away, covered in green algae and whatever:doh: I didnt find one half good one, with them being m.o.d surplus disposal experts I would have thought they would be in at least half reasonable nick...no, no,no, these babies need TOTAL restoration:eek:,so think twice about travelling half way across country to look at anything!, If any of you good folks have a good pre 1973 ambulance please let me know :)

Most landrovers that come ot of the MOD are shagged. Well the ones ive seen at Withams and Jacksons anyway.

Theres sometimes ones appearing on ebay that seem ok, but looks can be very very decieving.

i could be perswaded t part with mine
1969 s2a raf ambulance
its been striped inside so is just a shell and i never had any of the bits that go inside
the gearbox blow earlyer this year so has been removed and striped can be rebuilt but easyer to just get another s3 box from ebay
only reason i would let it go is i not got any time to fix her up so it might be best to let it go
im in surrey
pm me if you interested

When you bear in mind that none of them are newer than the early 80's what were you expecting? Minters? 12 months MOT? I'd be expecting wear and tear, knackered everything and rust, lots of it.
