This is my 1976 series 3 109 powered by a 300tdi, coupled to a four speed gearbox with overdrive. It is in good overall order with a full MOT.

The engine fitted is a 300 tdi from a 1998 vehicle, which starts and runs well. This conversion is perfect as it does not require any major body or chassis alterations and it betters the performance and fuel ecomony significantly from It's 2.25 original. The engine has been modified with the aid of an earlier flywheel housing, to bolt to the original 4 speed gearbox. The cooling system from the discovery is used in the vehicle. A radiator with internal oil cooler and an intercooler to maintain maximum power output. A new exhaust has been made to suit the new engine. The engine has had a light service with new oil, belt and filters.
The chassis is in overall good condition. The dumb irons required replacing, which I have done. These dumb irons are of the heavy duty 3/4 ton variety, and give a higher ground clearance. The rear spring hangers were also replaced to lift the vehicle accordingly. New shock absorbers were fitted. Tyres are all good and of the desireable, Avon Rangemaster type.
MOT - 12 months
Overdrive
Free-wheeling hubs

The body is in a lovely condition, 'used but not abused'. The truck cab is not original, but it has been resprayed to suit the green. If you want a proper old working Landy with modern day reliability and uprated performance, this may be the vehicle for you. I've put lots of new parts into the vehicle, now selling as I miss my Defender and i'd like to get another one.
£2795 ono, part ex or swap may be considered. Land Rover, vintage commercial vehicle or something interesting and british. (Tempt me)
Sam.
