After 2.5 years I'm saying goodbye to my first Defender. I'll be sad to see it go, but I've finally admitted to myself that it's no longer the right vehicle for me. The family aren't interested in camping anymore and I occasionally venture down the odd gravel track once a month, so it's hardly being used to it's full potential. Time for something with a few more creature comforts.
So tonight, the new owner is collecting my beloved 110 CSW from me and tomorrow morning, I'll be collecting this:
It's a 2002 ES V8. I hadn't intended to get a petrol, but after I drove one there was no going back for me.
I've no doubt the Disco will throw up a few problems along the way - wouldn't be a Land Rover if it didn't! - so I'll still be lurking in the background as I have done for the last couple of years.
Now I just have to convince the missus to let me buy a Series as a toy....
