Took my land rover to four garages yesterday to get a few quotes for some work and all four of the mechanics were ginger!

What's going on?

My brothers ginger and he ain't a mechanic. And the landy mechanics I know aren't ginger.

Must be something in the water down your way. Either that or their mums have all shagged Pat Mustard

When are you going to start doing the work yourself?

Then you won't have to suffer in the presence of the copper-tops!

I couldn't afford a Defender if I had to pay for repairs, I'd be fekin skint .not that Ive got any cash anyway . Do what I do fix it ye self and if you can't fix it paint it at least it will look good :)

Bloody hell give me a chance I've only owned it a few days!

I will be working on it my self but for the minute I need a problem sorting and at the mo I don't have the tools or skills to do it my self

A nice steady learning cliff.

Each time you've go a few bob spare in your back pocket, buy some tools even if only one at a time, and you'll be surprised how quickly you get a kit together!

Everything is really quite simple and logical to carry out. If you take multiple bits off, lay them in order so that you can't mix them up when putting it all back together again.

:D:D:D

First things I will be buying is a jack and axle stands as thats pretty much all thats stopping me at the mo, oh and the lack of space as well!

If lidl still have them in then they had a good set of folding axle stands for a tenner. Good place to get tools as well. I add another power tool to my collection each time they get them in. Their tools are made by a German company under the name Parkside and seem to be top quality
