Getting a tan in Q8
I know this has been covered and I understand springs are handed but has anyone ever seen the drivers side compensation done this way? (LHD Santana).
The spring perch on the drivers side is about 1/4" taller than that of the passenger side. Also the drivers side spring stack is 1/4" taller than the passenger side. It struck me as odd since it is the only corner to be set up that way. The back is the same on both sides. Just curious. Cheers

It is strange, the stack is higher in pic1 because you have 12 leaves the other is 11, im 99% sure that 11 leaves is the standard ammount!

unless it's a 109 when it then has 11 leaves on the front regardless of engine

Mine is a 109 LHD. When I put new springs on the back it originally had 13 leaf units. Weighed what felt like a ton when I pulled them off. Found some NOS 8 leaf units and put them on. Back works great. Just not a fan of the lean. Might swap sides with the springs to level it out.

The perch looks different because the one is nearer the diff where the axle tube gets wider. I think you'll find the distance from the axle centreline to the perch face is the same.
