Good Morning Gents and Ladies, I want to build a 200TDi Automatic Discovery for touring Europe and have already decided that a 200 TDi automatic LHD is the way to go for comfort reliability, durability, economy and simplicity (fixability). I am quite competent on spanners, welding etc etc and have a workshop.

To that end I have a (quite complicated ) question., or questions................................ I have the opportunity to take a clean 1998 3.9 (4.0 litre?) export LHD auto V8i and would like to convert it to a 200 TDi (the best Land Rover engine ever ?) and automatic.

I already have a spare (and good) 200 TDi engine and all the engine bits .............what else do I need ?
For example ;
will the 3.9 autobox fit a 200 TDi ?
what difference is there in a standard 200 series Disco from RHD to LHD?
electrics
fuel supply system (petrol tank to diesel ?)
exhaust ?

Any advice/experiences would be gratefully appreciated.

Andy.
