Er... WELCOME I guess! (go and say hello in the intro section). Post up your question in the Discovery section for better coverage. I've got the TD5, not the V8 so just throwing out an idea, based on my experience of running petrol powered cars.

A misfire? Firstly check all the spark plugs and HT leads. Correct plug gaps, electrodes intact etc. . Check the leads are connected to the plugs securely. Does the D2 V8 have a distributor with a rotor arm, or does it use coil packs? If it's a distributor, pull the cap off and check the condition of it and the rotor arm.

You might have one spark plug or more which is more sooted up that the rest which may indicate that one is the problem, or more than one..

What diagnostic are you using and what air flow sensor fault is showing?

D2 would be coil packs, it's the Thor engine.

Misfiring, check plugs and leads, bad flashovers can often be heard or seen if you look down the sides of the back of the heads where the leads run to the coils.

Plus you could have overrich or overweak mixture through the MAF not working.
