Hi all, I am looking to buy myself some decent diagnostic equipment.

Currently running a Freelander myself, and have done a few homers with D2's and P38's etc. Keep having to borrow a Snap-On scanner, which is pretty basic when it comes to anything LR, so looking to get my own LR specific tool

I use an Autologic system at work, which is the dogs danglies, but at £8,800 + VAT, its a bit out of reach for a DIY system...

The Hawkeye appears to be good value for money, but just how capable is it? For instance, can it programme a D2 to disable to SLS and ACE systems? I am aware that it offer "programming" for SLS + BCU, but no specific info on whether it is calibration, or actual programming...

The Nanocom Evo also appears to be fairly good value, and appears to do everything the Hawkeye does, but again, unclear if it will disable the SLS + ACE systems...

Any advice is greatly appreciated, especially people that have used either, or both systems :)

Hello, instead of starting a new topic I thought I would tag on to this one :)

I am in the process of thinking about buying a self diagnostic kit, like the Bearmach Hawkeye, Britpart Lynx, Nanocom etc.

I have two land rovers, a 1997 Discovery 1 Auto with EDC, and a 2003 TD4 Freelander Auto.
I know I would have to buy unlock codes for more than one vehicle on some kits, which can still work out cheaper than buying the professional versions. I believe the Nanocom does not to Discovery 1s :( according to there site.
I am after a system, that can do anything from programme a key fob, to telling me why the land rover is running badly with live data.

Just looking to see if anyone has either used these, or even suggest other ones out there that will meet my needs. My budget for the unit is about £300 and then extra say £150 for an additional vehicle code if required.

Thanks

Nigel
