Land rover Defender 90 300 tdi straight throu exhaust

My 90 300Tdi runs with just the small rear box. It's perfectly reasonable like that, noise wise.

Spent a couple of weeks completely straight through, while I was repairing a section of the exhaust. It was fun at first, but got old quickly, specially at high speeds. Mind that mine as no interior trim.
On a positive note, it got stronger at low revs, and got lower fuel consumption as I was being light on the throttle to avoid the noise
