hi all i never realised this until i was watchin a land rover dvd showing a p38 range rover and 300 tdi discovery doin some off road runs around the solihull off road track that there number plates were m601 cvc and m186 cvc respectively! my 300 tdi discovery has registration m847 cvc !the car has land rover special vehicle stickers on the side and im suddenly starting to think these registration numbers mean something. Having looke through my hand books the car has a receipt of first sale on the 11/9/95 but the vehicle has been registered on the 9/11/94 during this time the car covered 9476 miles, but the owners book has a clear stamp inside saying the car was purchased from Land rover company vehicles Solihull. Im just interested in what the car has been used for in its former life ...its still in perfect condition ..id really like someone to help me find out the history of my car if they can shed any light on why and what it mite have been used for.
thanks chris
PS i have some fotos of her if any one would like to see

It may well have just been a company vehicle at gaydon or solihull, then sold to a dealer that had a customer asking for a specific spec, is it a high spec one? any unusual extras?

well its armada gold and its a 3 door ..nothing really unusual about the spec but it does have air con and surprisingly an air bag, alloys etc . it has land rover special vehicles stickers on the wings though.

On previous style reg plates - ending in VC (as in CVC) indicates the vehilces were registered in near coventry - I had a Peugeot which ended in TVC - it was an ex-Peugeot car used to ferry people to/from the Peugeot factory
