Im bit new to this so not sure if this is right but im building a S3 SWB and using the big rover axles off my LWB S2V8. Are these the same as on a defender as iv been looking at steering guards and diff guards and someone says the axles are the same as defender ones...True????

Defender steering guards won't fit a Series LR because the leaf springs are in the way - but the good news is that those leaf springs provide some protection to track rod anyway. Lots of people sound off abount how cr*p leaf springs are, but they are actually quite an ingenious design - they can perform at least 4 other functions simultaneously: Obviouly they are a spring; friction between the leaves gives damping; they locate the axles fore and aft as well as laterally and tortionally; and they resist body roll, like an anti roll bar because of their torsional stiffness. So they are certainly multi talented - it's just a shame that they don't do any of those things very well!

Like said Diff Guard's will fit as long as they are Rover or you'll have to buy sailsbury for the rear...

Better news.. A steering guard for a series is £34 from "REBEL 4X4" whereas defender ones are like £50-60

'Cept dun't git the wuns wiv 'REBEL' cut into them cuz yer'll look a right cun't!
...Before any feker sez it - MINE CAME WIV IT FITTED FFS!

But dont all of Rebels guards have REBEL cut into them?, Or can you buy them without REBEL cut into them?.

Fort yer could git them plain on their site? Might be wrong. I will be covering mine up when I git around to it though.

Good guards, but 'REBEL' duz look naff on the frunt of them!

i know where rebel get all the stuff like diff guards made , can ya guess where i got mine frum ???:D

Chassis. Yer wunt be able ter fit Jate rings wiv wun fitted so if you were gunna git sum, dun't!

Nah, I wouldnt want Jate rings, Im happy enough with the front lifting eyes and then the towball on the front bumper..

Can you be a bit more specific as to where it bolts to please?. Problem being half of the front end on my chassis is 5mm thick steel! And possible mounting holes will have been platet over..
