I am the proud new owner of a 1988 Land Rover 90.
Aside from the 300tdi engine and auto gearbox from an early disco, I'm looking to make it slightly more civilized for use on long journeys and as the daily run around in between.
I've had the landy for 3 weeks now and changes I've made include;
- Ripping out all the rotten carpets,
- Removing the leaky rear sunroof,
- Soundproofing the rear with plastic coated sponge underlay,
- Removed the spring from the thermostat to run cooler
- Having the idle gear repaired
Jobs on the list to be completed before christmas...
- Fit the 19" wheels I bought last week (from a 2008 rangie tdv8)
- Fit more sound proofing - noisekiller engine mat in particular
- Fit the MUD console I have sitting in the garage
- Fit central locking kit
- Investigate running on vegetable oil and find a cheap local supplier
