Hi Guys,

I am sure there are a million threads regarding this but I am a bit confused and searching for a clearer answer.

For the past 2 years I owned a land 1985 Land Rover 90 with the 2.5l petrol engine. I am looking for an upgrade as its old, noisy, slow and the consumption isn't great either.

As the 300tdi requires a bit more skill and modifications to fit than the 200tdi I was thinking of getting a 200tdi Disco and swapping the engine directly into the Defender. How straight forward is that? My Defender is LHD and the Disco I will be getting RHD is that going to be a problem? my car has power steering.

Also, I understand that due to the different engine bays some things would require modification, does anyone have a list? what should i budget money wise? Is there a kit that people actually used before ?

Thank you very much in advance!
