Hi all,

I have a defender 90 TD5 (2000) and have a bit of a snag. Whenever I get to the biting point with the clutch/accelerator I lose all power - no revs, nothing! If I switch the engine off and on again I can rev the engine no problem but as soon as I get to the biting point again the power dies and I can't rev the engine at all. I've read a few threads on this but I'm non the wiser. I've removed the clutch swith on the master cylinder but when I do this I can't rev the engine at all. I've replaced the injector loom and cleaned out the connections to the ECU. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Not knowing much about the new 2000 td5.
All I do know is there is a switch on the clutch to improve gear change (cuts power/revs ) I have no idea how it works.
I would ask some very basis questions. To maybe help when the knowledgeable arrive.
I take it the car did run previous to this problem?
Have you done anything recently?
How handy are you with spanner’s/ multi meter.
