Hi all .. working my way around the new freelander 2003 td4. There seems to be a lack of power before the turbo kicks in around 2000 rpm. I have replaced the MAP sensor and blanked the EGR off and I have noticed a big difference but still a bit flat especially pulling off up a hill. It's had new lp fuel pump and filter and serviced new air filter, oil and oil filter .. I do believe there should be more power but haven't got another one near me to test drive. I have scanned with land rover software on my autel maxicom and no faults showing. Any ideas where to try next, oh and also cleaned the MAF with contact cleaner Thanks

What will this show?

with the MAF unplugged .. the ecu will use a default map ..
if it runs better like that .. it would point to the maf sensor being at fault ..
and to add ..
try giving the maf sensor a clean .. with a spray that leaves no residue
e.g. wd40 specialist contact cleaner

Thanks HD3 ..I took the maf out and sprayed with contact cleaner a few days ago so it is clean as a whistle. I have ordered another MAF so fingers crossed hopefully fix the problem. So far changed hp fuel regulator o rings due to starting issue (now resolved) , new MAP sensor , air filter and cleaned the oil separator filter etc.. so awaiting new oil separator and MAF and hopefully that will cure it !
