L405 BATTERY CHARGE / CHANGE

Evening all, I am after a "how to" for changing / charging the battery / batteries on a 2013 RANGE ROVER L405 LWB AUTOBIOGRAPHY if anybody has or knows where I might have such a thing

The car has the twin battery setup as standard?

Any help would be much appreciated,

Regards,

Steve

Hi Steve,

I haven't a clue I am afraid, but you may try www.fullfatrr.co.uk as they are more clued up on the later models.....

But do stick around here too, members with newer models willing to participate is how we all learn.

Hi Steve,

I don't think the twin batteries are standard. As yours is the super posh version they added the second battery to cope with the extra electrical demand. If yours has the top spec AC/climate system then the rear passenger system is fed by an additional AC unit (yes, they have 2!). This combined with the heated seats, fridge system (in place of the middle seat) and tv screens take a lot of power. IIRC the main battery is under the boot floor (by the spare wheel) and the addition aux battery is behind the panel, in the boot, on the drivers side. I haven't been into FA1 or worked on the 405's for a while (I normally do 494,x760 and x761) so don't quote me but they are in that general vicinity. At a guess I would think the aux battery takes it's feed off the main battery loom. There should be a section in the handbook under owner maintenance about disconnecting the battery.

Hope this helps
