Hi guys ignore my last post, thinking of up grade to tdv8 07-09 anything I should be aware of engine gear box ect, thanks

TDV8 utilises the ZF 8 speed I believe, a robust box with a minor seal glitch where the loom exits/enters the box.

EGRs are known for lunching themselves and the turbos.

Tronicals much better in the later years.

The 3.6 has the ZF6hp26 and it's a great box just needs a good service every 60k

The TDV8 3.6 has a fair list of things to look out ofr.

1 EGR coolers leak

1.5 Egr's themselves fail and are a pain in the ass as most of the ancillaries off the front of the engine have to removed to get them off.

2 Intercooler pipes Tend to blow apart.

3 TURBOS are a bug bare and not cheap.

4 Headgaskets are also starting to rear their heads.

Make sure it has plenty of power with 640nm of torque it should push you into the seat, if it feels gutless suspect one of the above..

Also check for rust,

I'd buy the 2006+ Jag powered L322 if it was my money.

But thats me. ;)

+1 on the Jag petrol engine. Especially if running LPG so cheap on fuel.

it would be nice, but just out my league at the mo,

Our 2011 with the 4.4 & 8 speed box has been no problem (really) it is a nice setup. We are not particularly high mileage and has always had services and any niggles sorted when they appeared, Probably just jinxed it now:(
Pretty good on fuel, compared to the others in our stable.

If you are not desperate to change might be worth waiting a little longer and saving a bit more.

But as the advice above just beware of the problems you may encounter, look for good documented history.
Good luck in your search.
