I have a TD6 Range Rover 2002, It wont start. I've replaced the secondary fuel pump, the glow plugs and not related the turbo and head gasket too.
It just turns over and over without firing, if however I spray EasyStart into the airbox it fires up. I have a taken the fuel line off at the injectors and there is a good pressure of fuel there, I have also checked at supply and return both having fuel.
There are 2 fault codes:- supply fuel low and rail pressure issue.
what can be causing this? I have fiddled around with the wires on the back of the high pressure sensor and now have a fuel injection fault on the dash....
HELP!!!

Have you tried checking the in tank lift pump?

Also the Pressure to the injectors should be stonkingly ridiculously high....so anything less would be an issue...so also check the pressure relief valve!

hello:)

No, I haven't I thought if the pressure was good at the injectors it couldn't be that??

when taking the injector pipes off 2 turns it creates a jet back on itself, seemed pretty high pressure. The pressure relief valve is the one on the back of the high pressure pump?

If it starts and runs after spraying easy start,it sounds like low pressure while cranking, you say you've replaced electric pump ,so next would be to do a leak off test on the injectors, garanteed 1 or more will be excessive, and this is what's causing low pressure while cranking, leak off test kits are pretty cheap on eBay and very easy to check the injectors, instead of using easy start use something like wd40 ,not quite as bad,

WD40 may well coat the MAF and feck it.

Possible causes to check out would be,check you have enough pressure on the low side, between 3 and 5 psi,if that's good then either the high lift pump or injector fault.if you are spraying the easy start I would suggest more pump than injectors as the engine is cranking slightly faster and hence pump working harder ,sometimes the O rings between the pump regulator and the pump fail, this causes an internal leak in pressure, not visible from outside. The pump only has to be down a very small amount to cause starting failures,I would check this first and while you are doing so send the injectors off to be tested, there are companies out there that will check them for about £50 a set.hope this helps.
