Hia, I have searched but not found an answer yet. Car is 2004 L322 td6
Im looking for a half decent code reader with the bi detection functions.
Important that it can also calibrate the air suspension. The bit where you enter numbers for each corner.

I like the IID but run a small garage so will be used on more than one car.
Snapon is good but heard bad things about hidden costs
Are Autel or the launch x431 any good? Heard they dont last too long before screen goes. Really does seem to be a mine field

thanks in advance for any advice

Hi inpa will do everything read and callibrate you need except read abs,

You just say its an e53 x5,

Im not sure about the abs electrics landrover wise vs bmw as e53 abs sensors dont work in the rr, but seat switches and ews box and odd bits like lower tailgate switches are compatible,
Steering angle sensor is the same as an e39 or late e46 bmw and half the price of 'RANGE ROVER' branded ones,

Same as the heater hedgehog resistor thats the same as e36 e46 e53 e39

You can get bmw scanner 1.4.0 that reads the abs module and that will read abs and all other fault codes in English you will need inpa for calibration,

There are certain coding options not avaliable like lcm coding for leds as it wont pass some checks that require a bmw vin,

Awesome thanks very much. That should cover my car at the moment.
Planning a 3.6 or 4.4 tdv8 in the new year, jaguar electronics i believe.
Any ideas on scanner for that one? Whats the best ones for all round LR?

The bmw scanner 1.4.0 didn't recognise the SW version of my LCM so I had to pick the closest when changing the mileage on a used one to match my current mileage.

Thanks for all the replies. I now have the bmw software that will sort the early 322s.

any one have any experience with the more inclusive hand held scanners? Autel or the launch x432?
