L322 oil leak

Hi, i have recently purchased a 2012 L322 4.4 tdv8, i have an oil leak coming from the rear of the engine ,oil is going down both sides of the bellhousing .Another problem is after driving on country roads where engine rpm is higher than mainroad driving im getting a soot like smell coming through the heater vents ,any help appreciated ..thank you

The soot smell will be most likely be oil dripping on hot exhaust,
