Hi all

I have a 2003 range rover 4.4 and it has a K & N air filter/box fitted to the engine and i would like to put the original one back but I have noticed that the SAI pump that used to connect to the original air box has been running without an air filter/box for some time (just the pipe is hanging there) and just wanted to check with you experts can this cause any problems with anything etc...

Thanks

Matt

Dont change the K&N filter! I was speaking to a guy down my road who used to work for LR for many years and EVERY time i see him he bangs on about "have you changed the air filter to a K&N yet?"

He said that the standard filter is utter crap and flawd. He said that on cold starts, they don't allow the engine to breathe properly because they are too cloggy causing backfires. They don't let enough air in epsecially when they get worn a bit. He said they almost suffercate the car. The worst incident he talked about was that it caused a range rover to backfire so badly when it was started because it effectively was blocked, that it blew the customers bonnet off!!

I haven't changed mine yet but it's high on the list of things to do. Right after gearbox issues, water leak issues and front air suspension spring issues :D
