I have a 2005 Range Rover Vogue 3 litre V6, owned since July. Today the air suspension made a droning noise when activated. I removed the spare tire, and unfortunately the well that the air suspension unit sits in had a fair amount of water in it.
Most likely caused by being parked on a slight downhill slope on the driveway.
Got all the water out and removed the top housing to the air suspension unit and soaked up any water in there.
Is there a way to test which components are making the droning noise? The suspension still works fine for now. I have taken a video of it but can't seem to upload it to here.
Vehicle is now parked on the flat outside house, and have left the cover off overnight to dry everything out

My bad, meant TD6
Could you point out the pump on this picture for me please? Is it possible to refurbish it myself?

What I'm trying to say is if the peep can't identify the compressor which is quite simple( the one with the air pipe on the end) is he able to remove it and repair it. Even you can do that.
Any pics of the project:):D:)

Hi yes they can be refurbished. Kits available online about £40ish .if you have trouble finding one I have a compresser that came out of my old car same year ect also I have the refurbishment kit to go with it I would be happy to sell to you , just the kit or both bits fir wat it cost me plus postage.

Great, thank you for the details. I'll get into it this week and see how I get on
Hi Jack, wondering how you are getting on or if you bottled it like me and bought a new unit complete. There are varying degrees of success with these kits and after doing one on my first L322 I decided, can’t be bothered to do it again plus the second car was in a lot better condition overall so splashed the cash.
Just to add to the situation, if you don’t find the leak path into the boot and seal it off this will keep happening and filling your compressor dryer with moisture. I am getting ready to pull the rear bumper to seal the mounting plates but there are several other routes for said water. Good luck, it’s all worth doing whichever path you take.
Tricky :)
