L322 3 Litre Diesel

Evening folks,

Have been offered a 3 litre diesel nice and cheap with 230k on the clock but lots of service history.
We’ve only had petrol models and no nothing about these.
Are they any good/reliable?

The engine is OK if well maintained but the GM auto box has a life expectany of not much more than 80K miles, so budget to replace it if it has not been replaced recently and the electronics, as with all modern JLR products can be unreliable often due to water ingress

If you're ok with spanners they are generally not too expensive to maintain (in LR terms

) but if you rely on a garage you may need deep pockets.

good engine, shít gearbox and a body that is more rot prone than the RRC keep your eyes and other senses peeled
