Hi all.
My battery seems to have terrible life. If I open the car to hoover it out, it’s generally low by the time I try and start it. Alternator charging fine.

if I replace the battery, does it need anything resetting at the dealer? I’ve had the battery disconnected quite a few times and never had a problem. Just followed the “keep keys away from the car for >2 minutes” thing. I’ve seen loads of threads about a dealership reset if you disconnect the battery yet I’ve never had an issue with a disconnected battery. I am upgrading to a 900A 100Ah battery as the one I have fitted is an 800A 90Ah and no idea how old it is. First charge date is worn off. Apologies if there are any threads on here for this. Couldn’t find one. I’m getting older, it’s getting colder and I want to use the preheater this winter

hope you are all keeping safe,

thanks in advance.

I am sure the setup is the same as the L322 and you need to tell it what type and when you fit a new 1. With Diagnostics. don't know what would happen if you didn't, it would probably run ok but the system wouldn't monitor and charge properly i think.

I know it's not the same, but my bmw car needs to be told a new battery has been fitted, along with what type, start/stop compatible, amphours etc.
Reason being, if it hasn't been told, the smart charging circuit can overcook things

Changed the battery on the L322 SC 2005 last week (EuroParts, £95), simples and no problems afterwards with codes etc.
