Hi people,
I posted a thread the other day about possibility of tuning my L Series diesel, well my super diesel lump is now playing up!

It drives fine, doesnt use any oil, the turbo is about 4 months old, injectors have been reconditioned 4 months ago, but boy does it smoke above 3k rpm!

I have disconnected the egr, will permanently blank it later today, but still no difference.

My immediate thought is it looks as if its massively overfuelling.

Any ideas?

Someone said to me about upping the boost by adjusting the wastegate by 3 turns but I dont have a boost gauge.

Are you sure your timing is correctly set up?
I take it you had turbo problems in the recent past.Did you give it a good run to burn off the oil in the exhaust?..When I changed the turbo on mine I left a 5 mile thick smoke screen on the country road I live on,way up into the hills.

It sounds like the fuel timing could be out by a tooth, has it been touched recently?

OIW,
Turbo was changed 7k miles ago (done some miles this year!) so no oil left in the system now, the smoking has only recently got this bad.

Popped out in it earlier going uphill in 3rd trying to accel, smoke billowing out.

If im gentle on the throttle its ok, as soon as I plant my foot it chucks out black smoke, hence me thinking its overfuelling.
