L-Series diesel will not start

Hello all, I recived the freelander i have with a snapped timing belt, i have replaced the head, belts etc and it has come to fire it up and it won't, theres diesel to the injectors and power at the glow plugs, is there anything elses i need to look at electrical wise? the car has sat for 8 months with no battery could this have affected anything? Any help is appreciated!
