knocks - front suspension

Well the knocks seemed to get progressively worse on the way home from work last night.

As soon as I got home, got under the car an had a poke around on all the suspension parts and mountings etc - nothing seemed to be loose.

Then I spotted something .......... the upper brake caliper bolt (the ones with the little rubber gaiter on them) was sticking out and loose. Obviously this was allowing the caliper to move.

It cant have been held in by many threads as it took a number of turns to tighten it.

No knocks now - hoorah !!!! knocks fixed and no expense !!

Well done that man, could have been potentially dangerous.

You didnt get new pads fitted by Kick Fit (Kwik fit) did you. They are known to leave things loose.

No, not Kwik fit

The previous owner fitted new discs and pads over 12months ago - and he was a mechanic !!!

Going to give the car a good going over, checking all the torques to be on the safe side
