knocking at my door? Lincoln/ baildon

Wife just rang me (as I'm working away tonight), she said some bloke just knocked on our door at about 2130 tonight (Sunday) wanting to know if the owner of the lightweight (me) was in. He's just bought a land rover and drove it back from Lincoln but he's broken down about 1/2 a mile from home and wanted a tow, apparently he lives just up the road from me (bd17 5..) ?????

She said he seemed honest enough. He had logbooks in his hand (obviously from his new purchase)..

Maybe a long shot, but does anyone know anyone on here who has just bought a landy from Lincoln that lives in baildon OR know anyone who has just sold a landy in Lincoln to a bloke who lives in baildon???

Which I was at home to do a drive around to see if the story he gave is true, my wife is a bit nervous now as the bloke knows she is on her own...

Update, the mrs says there's an old land rover that's new to the area down the road, so it was legit after all
