Well ,my sons td5 now sounds like a tractor, sounds like big end bearings have gone, would it be worth repairing or just dropping another engine in the bloody thing

I’d just put another decent engine in, honestly though mileage doesn’t seem to matter too bad with the td5, as long as it starts right up from cold and doesn’t smoke more than likely it’s a good runner

Replace the engine with a known working one, then do a stripdown and rebuild on the tappy one... then keep it, or sell it on.
