Nahh different guy, there were a fair few broken axles yesterday. Was with the moose offroad guys last night they lasted 20 minutes and destroyed a swivel ...

Havent sen NRG's motor yet. Hope hes still running

Its abit damp this morning ...

Moose were back today and seems to be doing ok. Rob Butler and Pier Acerni also seemed to be back to my surprise, Pier seemed to have more problems right at the end though. Rob seems to just about get out after the time attack. Great weekend. Given me many ideas about me disco challenge truck :D

Gotta find a damn trailer first :(

Yeah I was drinking and chatting with the moose guys last night drove 4 hours to get a replacement swivel ball

Yeah plenty of breakages although looked like less today than yesterday :)

Levi was just in a league of his own though, jim was flying on his last lap but not enough to account for the lost time yesterday.

Yeah same so many ideas for my truck and I now have a VERY long wish list :D

Competing in everyman next year I hope though :)

Cool, I hope to be there to watch next year again, don't think me truck will be up to it by then but you never know. Jim's truck is amazing! Once I get me trailer i'm sure things will start to flow a bit better. They're so expensive for a bit of steel. Sorting a roll custom roll cage is also going to be a pain in the arse when I've chopped the disco up a bit. Anywhere you'd recommend for the cage?

Id go for a eurofighter cage myself like levi's jims car still weighs as much as a mountain even with weight cutting

Go to tornado kotorsport for a cage he'll make whatever you want :)

Ill be in everyman I think just want to upgrade my shocks to some remote resovoir jobs and get some 35's ill have to upgrade my axles too but got preety insired to get on with it this weekend :D

Are Tornado reasonable prices?

Also, guessing you're going to put lockers in if you haven't already? Those air shocks on the back seem popular for lots of travel.

Yeah very reasonable :)

Yeah ashcroft lockers, dunno if im going full air rear yet but at least remote resovoir shocks :)

Good stuff, I saw a good Bilstein Remote res kit for Land Rovers somewhere. Saw a demo of it on youtube, looked very good. Expensive, but not as much as the King stuff. But man is that kit good! Jim and Levi running Coilovers and triple bypass on each corner :suspicious::5bdrool5::5bdrool5::5bdrool5:

Guessing yer winch is a Warn 8274? Seem popular. Saw a Red and gigglepin twin motor winch in action there too, geese they're quick!

Why is this stuff so expensive

Yeah theres a few brands around now so getting cheaper for a set :)

Id love Jims or Levi's set ups bloody incredible but I can't justify an easy 20k for suspension :(

Yeah ibe got a 8274, first mosd are GP main shaft and brake and a air freespool drum then bow 2 then twin motor as funds allow :) would love a GP84 or a big red winch though :D

Im trying to keep my build as cheap as possible and not jumping straight in with expencive axles, suspension etc. Just working out what I break and ehat I need to be able to have fun and complete challenges, im never going to win competing against jims 100k 600hp monster

Was a good event. Was marshaling from Wednesday - Sunday. Was a bit... damp on Sunday, which is why they had to re-route around the main rock section as most of it was a metre deep waterfall!

Pier's rig belongs to Will Overton, and was built by James Sunderland (http://www.sunderland4x4.co.uk). Mainly a TJ Wrangler, but with Lardy drivetrain bits as well. Was very strange to see a yellow knob (fnarr) sticking up from a Jeep floor. The main problem they had was that they kept chewing up reap propshafts. Even borrowed one from Dan Elias! But when they were running, Pier drove it like he stole it! Was flying round.

Pier snapped summat though big time when he lost rear drive!

What you doing on here yer Jeeper anyway :D

Much better now this type of vehicle/racing is coming over here ... it's given me a few ideas for me old Disco chassis instead of scrapping it!

Long-term project .. :)

Ya :) I'm really happy to see it aswell. Jim Marsden's '90' truck is something special, it's completely different to the other ultra4 trucks you see (like Levi Sherley's etc)

90 bulkhead (mostly) and roof and thats about it :D

Still looks beasty though if only he could stop breaking it that would be good.

Nice that hes got a qualife box but its not rated for the power his LS3 is putting out hence problems this weekend.

No good spending all that money and it still not being reliable. If his release bearing hadnt failed he would have won.

I'm sure he'll improve it, he's an extremely determined guy by the looks of it. last year his truck was a 300hp bored out rover v8, now an LS3 with double that. He'll have it soon. He won King of the Glens against Levi Shirley anyway.

Ooh yeah hes determined alright. Winched most of the way back on his third run when he blew the clutch.

But when you're putting an extra 200 hp through something thats rated to 400 something is likely to break.

KOP will decide it though

Looks quite good and I am glad quite a few people are using a proper base.

Thought it would all be large V8s but I did see a Diesel engined one on one video. Well I have a similar one in my Discovery

Yes there were a few diesels. There was even one of the custom built trucks using a diesel, though not a clue what it was. Pretty sure it wasn't a LR engine. Someone was running a TD5 in one of the well built trucks. Sounded great and was pretty swift!
