H12 LHH is a 12 seat white defender with green stripe down the side was bought by now wife from new in 1991 and was sold just 3 years later without her permission by former husband. We know it is still alive from ugov MOT history checker. what we would like to know is, who owns it, and do they want to sell it? the registration plate was personal and the sale not sanctioned.

It's a long time ago. How come your missus decided after 23 years that she'd like it back?

Having said that l am still cross about being ripped off by an Alfa Romeo dealer in Knutsford and that was back in 1998!

If you read my other post she was instrumental in me buying my first Land Rover. Almost every time we are out in the car she says I love big cars and she currently has to make do with a Clio. I put the request out there just to see if I could find it and maybe reacquire it as a bit of a project as it's MOT history is pretty poor reading.

It must have been fixed at some point to get it through ...

I would imagine the current owner will sell it if you offer them enough to buy a better one.
Particularly if it's in a poor condition as the MOT history suggests.
l think the DVLA will pass a letter to the current owner for a small fee.
But they won't tell you directly who owns it. It's up to the owner to contact you if they are interested.

Yes the DVLA will give up all the details of ownership for £2.50 but I am trying to get it for free as I am in no rush to acquire another Land Rover until I free up the drive space.
